The Centro Portugal Film Commission starts announcing, that the 16th edition of ART&TUR – Festival Internacional de Cinema de Turismo, one of the most recognized tourism film festivals globally, which will take place in the city of Caldas da Rainha between the 24th and 27th October 2023.
The participants of the ART&TUR Festival, will get to know the best of hospitality in Caldas da Rainha, UNESCO’s thermal and creative city in the area of Crafts and Folk Arts.
The importance of cinema and audiovisual tourism is reflected in the growing awareness of the destination Portugal, with the ART&TUR Festival being an opportunity for international promotion for the city, for the Center of Portugal and for the whole country.
In partnership with Turismo Centro de Portugal and several local institutions (Caldas da Rainha City Council, Cultural and Congress Centre, ESAD, ACCCRO, Caldas da Rainha União de Freguesias, Hospital and Caldas Museum, Malhoa Museum, SILOS Contentor Criativo and the other entities in the region that will be announced soon), this edition of the ART&TUR Festival is already being prepared and intends to be more comprehensive in time and in the diversity of initiatives, proposing different challenges in the sphere of cultural promotion and tourism.
Several competitions will be presented in detail very shortly: the award for best tourism film worldwide (ART&TUR Global); the prize for best national film (ART&TUR Portugal); the award for the best blog post about the Caldas da Rainha destination (Blogging Caldas); the prize for the best audiovisual about Caldas da Rainha (ART&FACTORY); and also the cinematographic scenario competition in partnership with ESAD (ART&TUR Location Scouting).
The ART&TUR Festival, which is part of the international network of film festivals of Turismo CIFFT, contributes to positioning the region at a global level, with the presence in the city for 4 days of audiovisual producers and tourism specialists from all over the world.
The Festival also has as a partner the airline TAP, which rewards the winners of each edition, with the dissemination of the best films of the national competition on long-haul flights, making known what is best in each region through promotional films and tourism documentaries of recognized quality.

Submissions can be made until the 30th of June and in a first phase, until the 30th of April it has a 30% discount.
