It was during the award ceremony held at Teatro Miguel Franco in Leiria that the winners of the 11th edition of the ART&TUR – International Tourism Film Festival, which took place from October 23 to 27, 2018, were known.
In the international competition, the big winner was the film that promotes the region of Catalonia “The Route of Fate”, directed by Román Parrado and produced by Francesc Olivares. In it we are taken to the best Catalan destinations through a travel diary, lost by a singer in a train station. The diary is met by two friends, who decide to follow the same steps as the musician.
In the national competition, triumphed “Love Story by PPS” of the director Nuno Rocha. It tells the story of two strangers, a man and a woman, who check in at a romantic hotel and who, on their way to the rooms, hatch and unintentionally switch their keys. Will the meeting have a happy ending?
In Art&Factory, an initiative that debuted in 2018 in the competition, with great success, the big winner was the film “Inside”, produced by the Brazilian team led by Marco Calabria and Bruno Nishino from Studio Eureka.
Art&Factory was a challenge launched to several teams of filmmakers who in three days, in the week before the festival, would have to record small promotional films in the villages of the Center of Portugal integrated in the networks of the Historical Villages of Portugal and Schist Villages. The winning film has as scenarios Piódão, Belmonte and Sortelha.
Two other films shared the second place, with the same points: “Lost & Found” a production of India, by Satyanarayana Dulam and Sandeep Dulam, in Piódão; and “Once Upon a Time” a production from South Africa/Ireland by Bruce Buttery and Tarryn Buttery in Monsanto and Idanha.
